MusicAIRE: Call for external evaluator(s) - Now open!
MusicAIRE (An Innovative Recovery for Europe) is co-funded by the European Union and aims to provide tailored-made instruments for the sector and contribute to a green, digital, just, and resilient recovery of the music ecosystem. In two calls for proposals, 51 projects in total were funded from more than 700 applications. The two partners forming MusicAIRE’s consortium are INOVA+ and the European Music Council (EMC).
The project consortium is now seeking to select an external evaluator(s).

As a reaction, there is a constant need for transformation which, at the same time, is both an opportunity and a challenge. The International Music Council (IMC) will hold its 40th General Assembly in Rabat, Morocco, hosted by Visa For Music, on November 21-23, 2023.
IMC was founded in 1949 and as it approaches its 75th anniversary in 2024, this 40th General Assembly will be a key moment for the life of the international organisation.

The EMC team attended Budapest RITMO in April which also acted as a host for a MOST partners meeting.
EMC Policy Advisor, Katharina Weinert attended the Voices of Culture Brainstorming Meeting on 'cultural and creative sectors driving the green transition and facing the energy crisis' in Tartu, Estonia.
EMC Secretary General, Simone Dudt, attended the launch of the 'policy club' of the EIT Culture and Creativity during the Creative Bureaucracy Festival in Berlin, Germany.
EMC Secretary General, Ruth Jakobi, attended the Music4Change International Research School & Mentorship Hub 2023 in Bergen, Norway. The EMC is a partner in this Erasmus+ funded project.
No time to waste: culture needs to be in the #SDGSummit Declaration
The #Culture2030Goal campaign advocates to national governments and on the international stage for the formal inclusion of culture in sustainable development frameworks. As a member of the campaign, IMC joins the other organisations and calls on the UN to recognise culture as a driver of sustainable development during the SDG Summit in September 2023.
The International Music Council and Norrlandsoperan announce new cooperation

After a successful 69th session of the International Rostrum of Composers (IRC), the International Music Council announces a new cooperation with Norrlandsoperan to offer an exceptional opportunity to the composer selected in the General Category.
EFM2023 - The Musical Doughnut
From 8 to 10 June 2023, over 150 representatives from more than 20 European countries gathered at the House of Music Hungary in Budapest for the 11th edition of the European Forum on Music (EFM).
Sou Fujimoto, architect of the House of Music Hungary, is quoted saying: “There is an infinite diversity of the world itself, but we should listen to the diversity beyond these designs, and we should be able to create such a space that accepts and transforms the diversity”. This ethos struck a chord with the theme of this year’s EFM, 'Sustain Music', wherein cultural professionals from all over Europe and beyond came together to talk about creating a safe and welcoming musical ecosystem; one that promotes inclusivity, embraces diversity, and strives for social, economic, and environmental sustainability; an ecosystem that ultimately sustains music in all its forms and processes.
The 69th International Rostrum of Composers
Jubelhemd (2021) for trumpet, percussion, harp, viola and orchestra by Swedish composer Lisa Streich (b. 1985), Nuits (2022) for chamber ensemble by French composer Othman Louati (b. 1988) and The Card Players (Kvartopirci) (2018) for string orchestra by young Slovenian composer Matic Romih (b. 1996) are the works selected by radio music producers participating in the 69th International Rostrum of Composers (IRC) held in The Hague (Netherlands), from 16 to 19 May 2023.
IMC Music Rights Award 2023
On behalf of its Executive Board, IMC is pleased to announce the 7th edition of the IMC MUSIC RIGHTS AWARD.
This biennial award is given to an outstanding project or programme that supports one or more of the IMC Five Music Rights.
After some years of forced pause, the award will be presented in the framework of the 40th IMC General Assembly (21 - 23 November 2023) in Rabat, Morocco during Visa for Music.
A representative of the awarded project will be invited to receive the prize on this occasion.
In a bid to creating greater awareness about the Five Music Rights, the Executive Board of the IMC decided in 2019 to open the call for applications to any organization, whether it is a member of the IMC or not.
You are therefore strongly encouraged to spread the word in your professional networks and offer this opportunity to a project that has inspired you. You can also submit a project from your own organisation!

Ce prix biennal est décerné à un projet ou programme d'exception qui soutient un ou plusieurs des cinq droits de la musique du CIM.
Après quelques années de pause forcée, le prix sera remis dans le cadre de la 40e Assemblée générale du CIM (21 - 23 novembre 2023) à Rabat, Maroc lors de Visa for Music. Un représentant du projet lauréat sera invité à recevoir le prix à cette occasion.
Dans le but de mieux faire connaître les cinq droits de la musique, le Bureau exécutif du CIM a décidé en 2019 d'ouvrir l'appel à candidatures à toute organisation, qu'elle soit membre du CIM ou non.
Nous vous encourageons à faire circuler l'appel parmi vos réseaux professionnels et à offrir cette opportunité à un projet qui vous a inspiré. Vous pouvez également soumettre un projet de votre propre organisation !
