International Rostrum of Composers 60th Anniversary

Not I (2010) for soprano (or mezzo-soprano), chamber ensemble and electronics by Polish composer Agata ZUBEL (born 1978) and So very strange (2013), by young Icelandic composer Úlfur HANSSON (born 1988) are the works selected by radio music producers participating in the 60th International Rostrum of Composers (IRC) held in Prague from May 28 to 31, 2013.

1001 Voices on Musical Futures: Call for Videos

While over a thousand music professionals are expected to gather in Brisbane from 21-24 November for the 5th IMC World Forum on Music, we know that many others won't be able to join us for a variety of reasons. To ensure that their ideas and opinions can feed into this important event, a dedicated YouTube channel has been created. Between now and November 2013, we hope to post '1001 Voices on Musical Futures', where, in no more than five minutes, interviewees summarise the key issues they identify as crucial to sustaining music and engaging communities as we approach 2020 and beyond. Bridging the gap from education and training to employment

We are pleased to announce that the  will be hosting a Youth Day ahead of the European Forum on Music on 18 April 2013. The theme of this event will be: Bridging the gap from education and training to employment and the event is open to young people under the age of 30 working in all aspects of European music life from administration through to project management and performing. In particular, EMC members are encouraged to send young representatives under the age of 30 to take part in this as well as in the Forum itself.

Official launch of International Jazz Day 2013

United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Director-General Irina Bokova, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Intercultural Dialogue Herbie Hancock, Turkey's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmet Davutoglu and its Minister of Culture and Tourism, Ӧmer Ҫelik, are pleased to announce that the main event for the second annual International Jazz Day will be hosted by Turkey in the city of Istanbul.

Young people involved in music in Europe today have much to offer the music sector, yet their voice is often not heard! This project seeks to give young people the know-how and confidence to make a stand for their needs and rights, whilst at the same time help the 'older generation' recognise the benefits of including young people in all aspects of an organisation's activity.
